A prominent Hindu seer in Uttar Pradesh on Monday staged a symbolic “beheading” of Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin over his remarks on Sanatan Dharma. Udhayanidhi, son of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, is in the middle of a controversy after he allegedly likened Sanatan Dharma to coronavirus, malaria and dengue and said such things should not be opposed but destroyed.

A video which surfaced on social platforms shows Ayodhya saint Paramhans Acharya holding a poster on one hand and a sword on the other, and staging the symbolic beheading of the DMK minister. He is also seen setting on fire the poster of Udhayanidhi.

According to reports, Acharya has also announced a reward of Rs 10 crore for anyone who beheads the DMK leader.

The remarks of Udhayanidhi, made at a meeting of the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers and Artists Association in Chennai on Saturday, has sparked off a political outrage with the BJP questioning the silence of the opposition INDIA bloc leaders. The saffron party accused the alliance, of which the DMK is a partner, of being against the Hindu religion.

AICC general secretary K.C. Venugopal has asserted that the party ideology of respecting all religions is very clear.

Meanwhile, Muzaffarpur-based has filed a complaint against the Tamil Nadu minister in a Bihar court, alleging that his remarks have hurt Hindu sentiments.
